Continuing our new season of Urban Forest Explorations, to coincide with a new book from Paul Wood: London Tree Walks. Paul is the author of ‘London is a Forest’ (2019) and ‘London’s Street Trees‘ (one of the Guardian’s Nature Books of 2017) and the Great Trees of London Map (2020). We entice you to Explore the Urban Forest from Holborn to Westminster.
BOOKING CLOSES AT 6.30PM TONIGHT
This 45 minute guided virtual tour takes in highlights from one of the 12 routes featured in Paul’s new book, ‘London Tree Walks’. Paul will take us on a live, virtual walk using Google Streetview as well as his own images and talk about each of the trees he has selected.
Paul Wood leads a guided online tree walk through one of the most historic parts of London from Holborn to Westminster. There are lots of fascinating trees encountered on this route which takes us through historic Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the Middle and Inner Temples, before taking in the trees that started a craze along the embankment. After passing through Embankment and Whitehall Gardens, the route ends at New Palace Yard and its veteran Catalpas.
The walk loosely follows two routes from Paul’s new book, London Tree Walks, a guide to twelve arboreal ambles through the green metropolis.
Urban Forest Explorations are produced by the Museum of Walking.
Once you book, joining instructions will be sent to you within 3 hours of the event start – also check your junk mail, just in case!
