This walking and art event will get you observing and listening as we walk to create a bricolage artwork. A walking and contemplative event designed to inspire and ignite your artistic nature as you learn the art of mindful walking from Mel Sutton a Natural Health consultant and practicing yoga teacher.

Mindful meditation is a way to calm your mind and increase self awareness and confidence. It teaches the mind to focus on the present learning to be mindful of what is happening around you. Too often in our busy world we can feel the victims of technology and addicted to an environment that is too fast paced for our minds to cope with. On this relaxed and fun event we will engage in some gentle outdoor exercise, and discover a little about how we can live in a more calm and present way.  You will depart with food for thought and some snippets to make your day a little calmer and meaningful.

Mindfulness_WordlWalking meditation is a simple and universal practice for developing calm, connectedness, and awareness. Practiced regularly, such as after a busy day, it has been shown to reduce blood pressure and heart rate. It can help increase positive feelings of well being and help aid sleep and combat stress. The art of walking meditation is to learn to be aware as you walk, to use the natural movement of walking to cultivate mindfulness and wakeful presence.

Participants will need to wear comfortable footwear and be able to walk unaided. The event will culminate with an informal group sharing for those who would like to express their experiences.
