Have you considered learning mindfulness and meditation walking as a tool to release stress and anxiety?

As part of London’s Creativity and Wellbeing Week (4-12 June), we are delighted to offer two mindfulness walking meditations that will look at mindfulness strategies, contemplation and problem solving exercises all delivered within a gentle and calming walking event.

Mindful meditation is a way to calm your mind and increase self awareness and confidence. By focussing on the present and learning to be mindful of what is happening around you, stress, anxiety and feeling overwhelmed can dissolve away helping your focus on life appear brighter. Too often in our busy world we can feel the victims of technology and addicted to an environment that is too fast paced for our minds to cope with.

Mindfulness_WordlWalking meditation is a simple and universal practice for developing calm, connectedness, and awareness. Practiced regularly, such as after a busy day, it has been shown to reduce blood pressure and heart rate. It can help increase positive feelings of well being and help aid sleep and combat stress. The art of walking meditation is to learn to be aware as you walk, to use the natural movement of walking to cultivate mindfulness and wakeful presence.

On these relaxed and fun mindfulness walking meditations we will engage in some gentle outdoor exercise, and discover a little about how we can live in a more calm and present way.

Each walkshop event will last between 60 – 90 minutes and will be limited to 12 participants for each walk.  Participants will need to wear comfortable footwear and be able to walk unaided gently for a mile. The event will culminate with an informal group sharing for those who would like to express their experiences.

A small notebook will be provided enabling participants to draw, write and collect memento of their observations, creating their own unique memory of the event.

Working in association with Greenwich MIND and Feel Good Greenwich, we will deliver these ‘walkshops’ on Tuesday 9 June in or around Greenwich Park.

We will be confirming your place the day before and offering it to a waiting list if we cannot obtain confirmation.

These events will be led by  Walking Creative and Founder of the Museum of Walking Andrew Stuck, Yoga teacher and homeopath Mel Sutton, and Paul Arnold a Master Practitioner in NLP and business coach.

Between them they have many years of group leadership and facilitation, and practice with integrity and sensitivity.
